The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved routine fiscal and administrative items during its May 21 meeting.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included claim vouchers; tax change orders in the total amount of $1,058,409.38; meeting minutes from May 14; and authorization to solicit bids for a culvert pipe. Commissioners then approved the Lake Region Solid Waste Authority budget for 2026 after staff explained the budget timing and the district’s recent addition of Shawnee as a member. County staff told commissioners the county allocation for the solid‑waste budget did not change from the prior year and that the request was routine for member counties to approve.
Action and votes: A motion to approve the consent agenda carried unanimously. The Lake Region Solid Waste Authority budget for 2026 was likewise approved by voice/roll-call with affirmative votes recorded from the commissioners present.
Other business: Staff reminded commissioners that June would include budget-study sessions, and department scheduling and logistics for those sessions were discussed. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
