Brownsburg board tentatively delays budget finalization as state numbers remain unavailable

Board members noted the interlocal agreement requires the board to approve the budget before it is transmitted to the town and that the town's internal deadline for submission is August 1. A board member said the circumstances this year, including changes to tax code and delayed state data, might justify requesting an extension under the interlocal agreement; staff said they would consult and advise.
No formal vote or motion to extend the deadline was taken at the meeting; the board asked staff to monitor incoming data and to update the board when numbers are available.
