Lancaster County Planning Commission unanimously approved a rezoning request on Tuesday to reclassify a two-acre portion of a larger family tract on Green Pond Road from medium-density residential (MDR) to rural neighborhood (RN).
Margaret Morris, who owns property at 7680 Green Pond Road, told the commission she sought the change so that buildings her husband constructed decades ago would sit on her property rather than across a lot line created when parcels changed hands over the years. She said the move is an administrative property-alignment request, not a new development proposal.
Staff recommended approval and noted the action would actually lower the parcel’s potential development density. Commissioners had no substantive questions and approved the request by a unanimous vote.
The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to Lancaster County Council for final action.
