The Fountain Hills Mayor's Youth Council presented a year-end summary to the Town Council highlighting more than 200 community service hours completed by eight members and a series of events and projects.
Skyler Thomas, an NYC advisor, introduced a recap video and summarized the council's activities: fall service events, a back-to-school bash, Make a Difference Day, Spooky Blast, turkey drive, and the signature Teen Takeover event, which included laser tag, music and other activities. The group also assisted at town events such as Irish Fest and Extravaganza and engaged with town departments to learn about budgeting, economic development and local government operations.
A key project was a teen survey shared through schools and social media; Skyler said "Over 100 local teens responded" and staff and NYC members identified three primary takeaways: better access to information about events, a desire for dedicated teen spaces and interest in more varied teen programming (pop-up events, theme nights and outdoor movie screenings). The NYC encouraged students entering grades 9–12 for 2025–26 to apply for membership.
Councilmembers thanked the NYC for its service; no action was required. The council asked staff to publicize the NYC's survey findings and recruitment information.
