Curriculum staff presented a draft professional development (PD) plan for 2025–26 designed to support the district’s multi-year curriculum-review and implementation work.
Kelly Downs and Erin Faust explained the PD plan is intended to provide teachers with time, supports and deliverables tied to each phase of the curriculum cycle. Staff said the draft has already been shared with teachers to collect feedback, and that the plan indicates goals and expected deliverables so leaders can track progress and provide supports during implementation.
Committee members commended the clarity and organization of the draft. Staff emphasized that the plan seeks to avoid overloading teachers by staggering major curriculum work across years and building PD time into the school calendar. The PD plan will be revised based on staff feedback and brought back to the committee as part of ongoing monitoring of curriculum implementation.
No formal committee vote was recorded; staff said they will continue to gather teacher input and return with a revised plan.
