Curriculum committee shifts Oct. and March meetings to avoid conflicts with board calendar

The West Bend School District Curriculum Committee voted by consensus at its May 20, 2025, meeting to adjust two dates on its 2025–26 calendar so committee meetings would not conflict with scheduled Board of Education meetings.
Superintendent Jen Wimmer and committee members reviewed a draft calendar that aligns committee meetings to occur before full board meetings so items can flow from committee to board. Members identified conflicts: the October meeting originally set for Oct. 7 would conflict with the board schedule, and the March meeting set for March 3 conflicted with members' availability.
Committee members agreed to replace the Oct. 7 meeting with Sept. 30 and to move the March meeting from March 3 to March 17. Those changes were noted for posting; staff said they would update the publicly posted schedule. Members discussed minimizing back-to-back weekly meetings while keeping deadlines that allow committee work to be ready for board review.
The committee also confirmed the regular meeting time at 4:30 p.m. and agreed staff may reschedule or cancel meetings if needed and will post changes.
