County extends temporary Doral library lease month-to-month at $17,577.44 per month

The Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners on May 20 authorized the county mayor to execute a month-to-month extension of the county's lease with Downtown Doral Retail Holdings, Inc. for the temporary Doral library space at 8551 Northwest 50th Court.
Commissioner Kionne McGhee (moved as Commissioner Bermudez presented the motion) said the extension covers the period while the new Doral library is under construction and may be needed for only a few additional months. The motion states the monthly extension amount is $17,577.44 ($59.70 per square foot) and references the original lease approved by the board in resolution R-369-22.
The board approved the motion by voice vote and directed the mayor's office, subject to legal sufficiency review, to execute necessary documents to continue library operations at the temporary location through completion of the new facility.
