The Nevada R‑V School District Board of Education approved multiple business items at its May 19 meeting, including audit services, an elementary insulation bid, renewal of a city facility-use agreement and meal prices for the 2025–26 school year.
Audit services: The board approved awarding the district’s audit services for fiscal years ending June 30, 2025 through 2027 to Bonsack and Frommelt (firm name as reported in board materials). Board materials show a per-program federal single-audit fee of $4,200 if a federal single audit is triggered. Staff noted a federal single-audit requirement is triggered if the district spends more than $1,000,000 in federal funds in a fiscal year.
Elementary spray foam insulation: The board approved a $10,635 bid from Kinsler Construction Services to install spray-foam insulation in north-end classrooms at the elementary school.
City facility-use agreement renewal: The board renewed its facility-use agreement with the city for continued athletic and facility use; staff said the arrangement is working well and allows district teams to use a city-owned facility for large events.
Meal prices for 2025–26: The board approved the proposed meal prices for 2025–26, keeping student meal prices the same as the prior year. Staff said state guidance requires the district to adjust adult meal pricing and maintain nutrition fund reserves within a state-defined limit (staff described the reserve target as about six months). Board members discussed the possibility of reducing meal prices in the future, but no change was adopted.
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda, which included personnel items, invoices and routine maintenance charges. Board members discussed routine HVAC repair charges and asked staff to confirm warranty coverage and invoice details.
All motions listed below were moved, seconded and approved in open session.
