Harlandale ISD says Teacher Incentive Allotment generated $2.11 million; district to send most funds to teachers in July

Harlandale ISD administrators announced at the board meeting that district participation in the state Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) generated $2,110,571 in allotment funds.

Miss Castro, who presented the TIA report to the board, said the district recorded 189 TIA-designated teachers across master, exemplary, and recognized levels: 15 master-level, 91 exemplary and 83 recognized. Campus totals ranged from 1 designation to 19; Harlandale High School led campuses with 19 total designations. Stonewall Flanders generated the largest campus allotment, $196,360, according to the presentation.

Castro gave examples of individual payments: the highest single teacher payment will be $21,219.20 added to a July paycheck; the lowest listed payment will be $4,212.80. She said approximately 90% of the total $2,110,571 allotment will be paid directly to teachers in the July payroll. After the presentation she invited trustees to come forward for a photo with the ceremonial check.

Trustees praised the district's work and expressed pride in the designated teachers. The presentation was described as an update and recognition; no board vote was required for the report.

The district did not provide names of all recipients in the public presentation beyond citing campus totals and the ranges noted above. Castro asked trustees to join a photo opportunity at the meeting and noted the payments' timing for July payroll.
