The Port Arthur Planning and Zoning Commission on May 19 approved two replat requests to combine lots for single‑family residential remodels.
Staff reported that R25‑07 concerns parcels at 2636 and 2628 Fourteenth Street (parcels 90868 and 90869) and would combine Lots 2 and 3, Block 298 into a single tract (new tract name 2‑A). Staff said the new lot dimensions would be 50 by 140 feet (7,002 square feet) and the total acreage 0.3206. The current and surrounding zoning is medium density residential and there was no proposed zoning change. Notices were mailed to adjacent property owners and published at least 15 days before the hearing.
R25‑08 concerns property owned by Malpro Enterprises LLC at 1934 Austin Avenue (parcels 92536 and 92537). Staff said the replat would combine part of Lot 5 and Lot 6 into a single tract (new tract name 6‑8) totaling 0.2671 acres. The current zoning and surrounding zones are medium density residential; no zone change was proposed.
No members of the public came forward to speak for or against either replat. The commission closed the public hearing and then the commission moved to approve both R25‑07 and R25‑08. Commissioners recorded a voice vote — "All in favor, aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carries" — and both replats were approved.
