Councilman Amir Carr Hernandez, chair of the Operations Management, Budget and Government Accountability Committee, opened the committee’s May 19 meeting and announced that Councilwoman Molly Rosado had asked to postpone her resolution concerning handicap parking policies and meter charges.
The resolution, sponsored by Councilwoman Molly Rosado with co-sponsors Councilman John Gale and Councilman George Mixon, would have directed the Court of Common Council to review and amend handicap parking rules in collaboration with the Hartford Parking Authority and disability-rights organizations. Because the author requested a postponement, the chair asked for a motion to postpone the item.
A motion to postpone was made and seconded; the committee voted to postpone the item. The chair recorded that item 2.1 is postponed until the committee’s next meeting in June, with the chair noting June 16 as the expected date.
No substantive debate occurred on the measure at the committee meeting; the postponement was requested by the author and accepted by the committee. The committee did not take any action on the content of the resolution at this meeting.
