At a May 19, 2025, Forest Park work session staff presented a draft ambulance rental agreement and general release that would allow the City of Hapeville to use Forest Park's spare rescue trucks when Hapeville's vehicles are out of service.
The chief said Hapeville occasionally requests to use Forest Park spare rescue trucks while their units are undergoing repairs and that Forest Park has similar arrangements with other nearby agencies. The chief said the arrangement operates as a mutual-aid partnership rather than full transfer of assets.
Council member Gunn asked how insurance and liability would be handled. The chief said Hapeville would be liable if anything happened to one of the rescue vehicles and that the agreement requires Hapeville to name Forest Park as an additional insured. A city attorney drafted and reviewed the agreement, staff said.
Council members discussed staffing and confirmed Hapeville would provide its own personnel to operate the vehicle when it is using Forest Park equipment.
No final vote or formal adoption of the agreement appears in the excerpted transcript.
