Stilson Transit Center construction remains within budget; Beckley Parkway realignment, paving planned in June

Contractor and county staff told the Teton County Board of County Commissioners on May 19 that construction of the Stilson Transit Center is progressing and remains within budget while key schedule milestones approach.
John Danby, project manager for the general contractor Anderson Construction, said work began the week of April 21 after an April 18 groundbreaking and that the guaranteed maximum price has been secured. Danby said the immediate priority is realigning Beckley Parkway to improve bus access and parking circulation. "The original plan . . . was to open the new Beckley Parkway by Aug. 1," Danby said, adding the team had accelerated some work and was targeting mid-June dates for partial openings around June 9–16, weather permitting.
Danby described a two-week window planned for asphalt milling and paving of the Beckley Parkway tie-in, with temporary closures and traffic control expected. Heather Overholser, Teton County director of public works, said county staff and stakeholders including Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Teton Village Association have coordinated on the schedule and community notifications. Overholser said the county expects to have expanded parking available for next winter, though the transit facility footprint will reduce the total parking supply somewhat; the county will monitor and may use parking attendants on busy days.
Danby and Overholser noted the schedule is weather dependent and that the contractor has worked to minimize user impacts while completing the core roadway work. The update also outlined public outreach, temporary bus stop relocations during construction and plans to return bus service to the existing transit center location once Beckley Parkway reopens.
Ending: Staff said they will continue quarterly construction updates and coordinate with resort and village partners on parking and access; commissioners had no formal action and the construction update will continue to future meetings as needed.
