Enterprise risk chief reports open investigations and a resolved anonymous allegation; cyber-fraud probe remains active

Andrick said one carryover matter from last fall (a check-fraud claim) remains under investigation. She reported a separate, newer check-fraud claim that is "under a thousand dollars" and is close to resolution; she said she expects to report dollar amounts once investigations are complete. Andrick said there is also an active cyber-fraud investigation that she could not discuss in detail because the county's police department is conducting an active investigation.
An anonymous report submitted through the county's reporting website was investigated and determined to be unfounded. However, the inquiry revealed inefficiencies in a credit-related approval process; Andrick said the county has implemented an improved approval step for that credit process as a result of the review.
Andrick told the committee she would keep the dollar amounts and further specifics confidential until investigations are complete and that she expects to provide more numeric detail at the fall meeting.
The update was informational; the committee took no formal enforcement action during the session.
