Carmel-by-the-Sea to staff weekends, add beach facilities as new public-works director outlines priorities

Carmel-by-the-Sea will have one public-works staff member on duty every Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend to monitor maintenance in the village, and will place porta-potties and extra trash dumpsters along Scenic Avenue and the Del Mar parking lot for Memorial Day weekend, officials said.
