She shows up. She does her homework,” the chair said during the discussion.
Members of the committee who spoke during the discussion praised Dr. Goff’s handling of multiple major responsibilities during her tenure, including district operations during the pandemic, the opening of a consolidated middle school and work on a high school renovation. Committee remarks cited district goals that informed the evaluation, including curriculum work to raise math proficiency, planning for the new high school building, the FY25 consolidation of Burton Johnson, and efforts to strengthen principals’ instructional leadership through observation and evaluation.
Dr. Goff responded briefly, thanked the committee for its support and credited her administrative team. The committee then moved to a formal vote on a motion to accept the summative evaluation; the motion was made and seconded and carried 5-0.
The acceptance begins the committee’s next steps of working with the superintendent on goal development for the coming year and maintaining the ongoing evaluative dialogue the members described as the “meat” of the superintendent–committee relationship.
