The Nevada State Board of Cosmetology on Monday, May 19, voted to decline immediate temporary suspensions for two licensed Las Vegas cosmetology establishments after each was cited in prostitution-related incidents under Nevada Revised Statute 644.855.
Board staff recommended that the board not impose the statute’s emergency temporary suspension (which can last up to 15 business days) for either establishment and the board voted to accept that recommendation. The board took the actions during a regular meeting convened with participants in the board’s Northern and Southern offices.
The first matter involved NN Day Spa, license S709071, located at 3650 South Decatur Boulevard, No. 23, Las Vegas, 89103. Board staff identified the event as LLB2503021928 and said the establishment was cited for a prostitution-related civil citation. Staff also noted a prior related event (LLV250100080468) that was heard on Feb. 10, 2025, and remains pending formal discipline. After a brief presentation, board staff recommended no immediate temporary suspension and the board voted to accept the recommendation.
The second matter concerned Wonderful Spa, license S709602, located at 4110 South Maryland Parkway, No. 29, Las Vegas, 89169. Staff recorded that a female employee of that establishment was cited for solicitation of prostitution (event LLB250300014127). Board staff recommended no immediate temporary suspension for the establishment and the board unanimously agreed.
Board discussion was procedural and brief. A board member asked whether the citations named individual cosmetologists or only the licensed establishments; board staff replied that the actions in these agenda items implicated the establishments’ licenses rather than an individual’s professional license. No public comments were recorded on the items, and board staff said it would follow up with the licensees about the next steps in the disciplinary process.
Votes at a glance - NN Day Spa (S709071): Board accepted staff recommendation of no immediate temporary suspension under NRS 644.855; motion carried. - Wonderful Spa (S709602): Board accepted staff recommendation of no immediate temporary suspension under NRS 644.855; motion carried.
The meeting record shows the board adjourned at 9:18 a.m. following the two enforcement items. Formal disciplinary proceedings referenced in the record remain pending; the board did not take final disciplinary action at the May 19 meeting.
