Other items advanced included: selection of option B for RFQ scoring for the county’s $21,000,000 septic-to-sewer grant project (staff will shortlist up to five firms and bring presentations to the board), a DEP grant modification and budget amendment for the Ranchatz project (transcripts show prior HMPG funding and subsequent modifications), Triumph Gulf Coast grant contract for Project Turbo in the amount of $2,483,093 to buy property and make site improvements for industrial development, an extension of the Evans contracting agreement (time only, through 06/30/2025), task orders for stormwater and sidewalk work (Panhandle Grading & Paving $384,317; Chavers Construction $159,412.45), a DEP Living Shoreline grant of $94,501.24, and a purchase order to Blues Angel Music for $62,071 for audiovisual upgrades in the emergency operations center.
Staff recap and next steps: county staff said the MSBU fire-funding request will be updated and returned to the board at a June 23 budget workshop. For the items moved to Thursday’s consent agenda, staff will prepare the standard backup and bring them forward for formal vote at that meeting. Several items were moved "without objection" at this meeting, which the chair recorded as unanimous consent to place them on Thursday’s agenda for formal action.
Legal note: county staff referenced Florida Statute section 985.686 when explaining the requirement to cover juvenile-detention cost shares; that budget amendment was among items forwarded for Thursday.
Not a final adoption: advancing items to the Thursday consent agenda is a procedural step; final approvals, appropriations, or contract signings will occur when the board formally votes at the regular meeting.
