The Lander County Board of Commissioners on June 12 approved a zone change and associated parcel map filed by Battle Mountain Group LLC to allow an RV park on a 14.6-acre portion of a larger parcel near Old Highway 8A and State Route 305 in Battle Mountain.

The Planning Commission approved the zone change (application 25-0027) at its May 21, 2025 meeting with no additional conditions and recommended the parcel map for recordation. At the June 12 hearing, Shelby Knott, planning coordinator, summarized the Planning Commission action and said the change was intended to "clean up some of the zoning on the spot parcel here to allow for... an RV park." The public made no comments at the hearing and the commission voted to approve the zone change and the parcel map.

Why it matters: The approvals clear the way for the applicant to create a parcel for the RV park and seek subsequent development approvals. The commission recorded as a condition that the parcel map be filed with the Lander County Recorder's Office within one year of approval.
