Perryton ISD trustees unanimously approve Chromebook purchase, personnel contracts and ag-lease authorization

The Perryton ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a package of routine operational items at a regular meeting, including a Chromebook purchase for the 2025–26 school year, multiple personnel actions, an attendance-waiver application and authorization for the superintendent to negotiate an agricultural lease on district property.

The vote carried on every listed motion by a 7-0 margin. Board members also endorsed a candidate for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Region 16 seat and set their next regular meeting for June 16 at 6 p.m., with a likely 5:30 p.m. campus tour beforehand.

The superintendent described the attendance-waiver request as “a routine action and really a formality,” saying the district will ask the state to grant a waiver for days when attendance dropped about 10% from the prior year so those days are excluded from ADA calculations and the district is not penalized for illness or bad weather.
