District says second easement with Penelec/Edison should speed power work; officials expect service by June or early July

District staff told the committee the district secured a secondary easement needed for power work and has paid the invoice for line work; Penelec (Penelec/Edison) has agreed to send crews under a limited emergency process to begin infrastructure work sooner than otherwise expected.
When asked about item 7.06 related to Pedelec and Edison, staff said the secondary easement was the outstanding item and that "Penilec received both of the easements as well as we did we paid the invoice for the line work." Staff described a compromise in which emergency linemen would begin infrastructure work prior to the full inspection and formal list scheduling. "My hope is that instead of going through the whole process and waiting and then getting permanent power sometime in the August, that we should be able to get it sometime in the, June, if not the early July," staff said.
Board members thanked staff and asked for updates. No formal motion or vote was recorded in the committee discussion.
