Danvers ZBA grants one final continuance for 20 Pope's Lane storage-container proposal

The request, filed as docket 25-5094 and described in the application as a special permit to allow two storage containers on-site for more than six months as permanent structures, was first brought to the board earlier in April, according to the record. Corinne Daugherty, chair of the board, read the item into the record and opened the discussion.
The continuance request was accompanied by a letter signed by Nancy McCann, Esquire, on behalf of the applicant stating that the applicant is preparing revised plans and other information the board requested and asking to be continued to the July 28 meeting. The letter said, "we are working on a revised plan that will address the board's concerns and potentially limit the relief sought." The letter was entered into the record at the hearing.
Board members said the case has been continued repeatedly. John Bowner said, "I just really don't understand ... I'm not in favor of continuance," referring to repeated delays since the case was filed in late March or early April. Another member said the board should allow one more continuance but that it should be the last without demonstrable progress.
After discussion, the board approved the continuance to July 28 and instructed the planning director to contact the applicant to make clear the board will not extend the matter further without substantive updates or revisions to the proposal.
The continuance preserves the applicants filing while the applicant prepares revised plans; no substantive determination on the storage-container proposal was made. The docket number for the matter is 25-5094; the applicant contact on the filing is listed as EDM Construction, care of Sean McGill.
The case will return to the Zoning Board of Appeal on July 28 barring an administrative change or withdrawal from the applicant.
