Hubbardston health agent reports clean water tests, details inspections and vendor permitting

The Hubbardston Board of Health on June 10 reviewed routine water testing and inspection activity, accepted recent well-completion paperwork and temporary vendor permits, and discussed outreach and inspection plans for summer camps.
Board members heard that recent water tests for the Center School and samples from Common Pond taken by the Department of Conservation and Recreation returned within normal limits. Sanitarian Nancy reported two water-test records for Pinecrest (May 27 and June 6) and that the March sample from the Hubbersonton Center School showed “E. coli very, very normal.”
The board was updated on several permit and inspection items. A well-completion report for 58 Hale Road was presented and paperwork reviewed; sanitary signatures were confirmed as required. A temporary food-venue permit was approved for PB & J Homestead to sell at Vienna Ranch, and an engineering packet for new construction at 53 Berry Road was reviewed and returned as complete for the file.
Nancy said she inspected multiple food establishments since the last meeting, including Stars and Stripes Diner, Giacomo’s and Hubbardston Market, and conducted rapid public-health spot checks at the Hubbardston Town Fair where one nonprofit was selling lemonade without a prior permit; staff will send a post-event application and waive the $20 one‑day fee for nonprofits. She also outlined plans to inspect campgrounds and residential kitchens beginning in July and said she will take staff member Victor to assist on some weekend inspections.
The board also approved the May 27 meeting minutes after a motion by Ginny.
The board set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. in the Slade Building and adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
