Planning commission approves rezoning for 6201 Crow Lane to allow pet services over neighbors’ objections

The Planning Commission on June 9 approved a rezoning and plan amendment for 6201 Crow Lane to allow pet services, voting 7–4 to adopt the applicant’s request with a conditional overlay that forbids four higher‑intensity uses.

The action rezoned the roughly 0.98‑acre property from Limited Office Mixed Use (LO‑MU‑NP) to Neighborhood Residential/Commercial Mixed Use with a conditional overlay (LRMU‑CO‑NP), and adopted the companion plan amendment staff recommended as neighborhood mixed use. Commissioner Ahmed made the motion to approve the applicant request with changes to the conditional overlay; the motion passed 7–4.

The vote followed more than an hour of public testimony and a round of commissioner questions.
