Votes at a glance: May 27 Roseville council actions include abatement, vehicle purchase, and housing commission reappointment

At its May 27 meeting the Roseville City Council approved several routine and administrative actions by voice vote.

Abatement: The council adopted a resolution to abate a public nuisance at 25188 Packard Street. City staff said the property owner is an elderly man who allowed family members to occupy and "completely trashed" the home; staff said the building department believes the structure may be potentially rehabilitable and that the city intends to hold off on filing a nuisance abatement lawsuit while discussions continue with the owner and potential sale or a demolition-and-lien agreement are explored. Motion to approve the abatement resolution was made by Councilman Leticia and supported by Councilwoman McCartney; the motion carried by voice vote.

Vehicle purchase: The council approved awarding a purchase for a 2025 Ford F-150 Super Cab 4x4 from Loonghammer Ford of Owasso, using the State of Michigan and Macomb County contract pricing. City staff said the vehicle will be paid for from water department funds and will replace a truck more than 15 years old with nearly 40,000 miles; the replaced truck will be transferred to another department or sold at auction. The motion was made by Councilman Leticia and supported by Mayor Pro Tem (recorded as Haught in the transcript) and carried by voice vote.

Appointment: The council reappointed Susan Stadwick to the Housing Commission. Councilwoman McCartney moved and Councilman Leticia supported the reappointment; the motion carried.

Other routine agenda items, including consent agenda items, were approved earlier in the meeting by voice vote.
