Council confirms direction following executive session on potential property acquisition
Summary
After an executive session concerning acquisition or lease of town property, the council voted 5-0 to approve the direction given to the town attorney and staff about potential real property matters to support expansion of town operations.
The Oro Valley Town Council met in executive session under ARS §38-431.03(A)(4) and (A)(7) to instruct its representatives regarding the acquisition, purchase, sale or lease of real property within town limits and to consult about its position on expansion of town operations. The council moved into executive session with the town manager, deputy town manager, town attorneys, legal services director, town engineer, police chief and town clerk present.
After returning to open session the mayor moved to approve any direction given to the town attorney and staff during executive session concerning acquisition, purchase, sale or lease of real property within town limits. Councilmember Murphy seconded; the motion passed 5-0. Councilmember Nicholson participated virtually.
The council did not discuss property specifics in open session. The motion approved implementation of direction provided in executive session and authorized staff and the town attorney to act consistent with that direction.
