Thornton City Council designated Councilmember Jessica Sandgren as the city’s voting delegate for the Colorado Municipal League (CML) business meeting and named Councilmember Justin Martinez as the alternate.
Rob (staff) asked whether the council was comfortable designating a delegate; council members agreed to appoint Sandgren as primary and Martinez as the alternate. Rob noted the CML business meeting is scheduled for June 26 during the conference in Breckenridge. Council deferred naming a delegate for the National League of Cities meeting in November until travel plans firm up.
Why it matters: The voting delegate casts the municipality’s votes on association business at the CML meeting; the designation allows Thornton’s delegates to participate in candidate and policy business at the statewide municipal conference.
