Tonawanda City Council adopts most resolutions, tables Nos. 2 and 6
Summary
At its June meeting the Tonawanda City Council voted to adopt seven resolutions and tabled two requested for further consideration. The vote to waive readings and the majority of scheduled special-event and administrative resolutions passed by unanimous roll call.
The Tonawanda City Council voted on nine resolutions at its regular meeting and adopted seven while tabling two for later consideration.
The council unanimously waived the reading of resolutions 1 through 9 before considering each item. Resolutions 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 were adopted by roll call. Resolutions 2 and 6 were tabled after motions on the floor.
Why it matters: The adopted resolutions include festival and special-event approvals and administrative measures that clear the way for summer programming. The two items tabled will return to the council for additional review and were held pending further information or public requests.

Context and next steps Several of the adopted items are special-event permits for summer activities; the council amended resolutions 8 and 9 on the floor to specify the Carnegie Arts Center and Western New York Scout Council special-event applications before adoption. Resolutions 2 and 6 were tabled for later review; councilmembers indicated they would return those items after staff follow-up or additional briefing.
