He said the effort is intended to provide consistent oversight, training and operational standards under district management rather than outsourcing security services.
Board members discussed the plan and confirmed the administration would return on July 28 with personnel recommendations and allow public comment at that meeting. Directors also noted the board can solicit new bids in the future if it decides not to proceed with the in‑house model. The motion to reject the current contracted bids passed on a roll call vote recorded as unanimous.
