- Road namings: The board opened and closed a public hearing on private and new road names and approved the list recommended by the tax administrator. Motion by Commissioner Goins; second by Commissioner Hyatt.
- Health department purchase: The board approved a request from the county health director to purchase a replacement dental chair priced at $10,305.29. The health director has budgeted the cost in the current fiscal year and no additional county funds were required. Motion to approve by Commissioner Hyatt; second by Commissioner Tucker.
- Boards and committees appointments: The board confirmed several appointments and reappointments including Katrina Alexander to the PTRC Workforce Development Board; Commissioner Harris was reappointed to the Surry Community College Board of Trustees (four‑year term); and a reappointment to the Surry County Tourism Development Authority. The board also appointed Janet Ferris as an alternate to the planning board / board of adjustment / historic preservation commission.
- Other procedural actions: The board scheduled a budget work session for 6 p.m. the following evening to consider authorizing the FY26 budget for adoption; commissioners reminded the public the opioid settlement item was pulled and would return when the county adopts the budget.
