Council first approved reappointments by a single motion that read multiple names into the record. The reappointments included members of planning, traffic, the Lake Jackson Development Corporation (LJDC), the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA), parks, library and the hotel-occupancy-tax (HOT) board. Councilwoman Rhonda Seth made the motion to reappoint the listed members; Councilman Buell seconded the motion and the council approved by voice vote.
Council then discussed and filled multiple vacancies. By motion, council appointed Rick Wright to the Traffic Commission; Danielle Pooler to Parks & Recreation; Emery King, Shirley Baker and Haley MacGregor to Keep Lake Jackson Beautiful; Will Brooks, Bill Yenny, Eric Henderson, Drew Davenport and Kevin Linden Schmidt to the Charter Review Committee; and Dr. Anil Sinha to the Dangerous Structure/DB (DSDB) position that must be a physician or nurse. Council made a single consolidated motion listing the appointments; council seconded and approved the appointments by voice vote.
Council and staff noted that some boards can expand or contract membership and that staff will publish appointment lists and follow up where ordinance requirements (for example, the DSDB physician/nurse requirement) apply. The council did not record a roll-call tally in the public transcript; approval was confirmed by the meeting voice vote that said "aye."
