School administration requested district assistance with funding and the finance committee recommended that Tullahoma City Schools pay 50% of the project.
A motion to approve the Rogers Group bid carried after a voice vote. Board member Brock Compton moved the motion and Rosie Graham seconded. During the meeting, board members spoke in favor of completing the long-delayed project; administrators said the track would benefit school activity and wellness programming.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the contract. Mr. Jernon said the work is intended to proceed following contract approval.
Vote at meeting: motion passed; one board member recorded an opposition during the roll call.
