The Poudre School District Board on May 27 authorized three contracts for school resource officers with Fort Collins Police Services, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Timnath.
Jared Sargent, the district’s student safety and emergency management presenter, described the SRO program’s three-part mission — teaching, mentoring/counseling and law-enforcement response — and provided data for the 2024–25 school year. He said Fort Collins Police Service officers issued about 24 juvenile citations this year, Larimer County reported 18 and Timnath reported 10.
