Board approves bid to renovate Bottlers Building for centralized CLC offices at about $500,000

The Lincoln Board of Education voted on May 27 to award a renovation contract for space at the Bottlers Building, 20 Fifth and Randolph, to centralize Community Learning Center (CLC) offices.
District facilities staff said they received four bids and recommended proceeding with the lowest responsive bid, which they described as a little over $500,000 from Dickey Hines. The renovation will relocate CLC offices currently housed at Roper Elementary and provide a more permanent district-owned location, staff said.
A board member moved approval of agenda item 9.2.2 and members agreed to waive second reading. During discussion members noted the location is central and near Lincoln High School. The board approved the motion by roll call; one board member was recorded excused.
The board recorded no additional amendments to the project at the meeting; district staff will proceed with contract administration and project scheduling under the approved bid.
