Commissioners approve Nebraska NACO handling national dues invoicing, with a small discount

Staff said the combined invoice would be sectioned into two parts (state and national dues) but paid with a single county payment; Nebraska NACO would then forward the national portion to NACo. The staff presentation noted a 5% discount on the first half of national dues as an incentive for counties to use the consolidated billing.
Speakers said Nebraska is nearing full participation among Nebraska's 93 counties, which would increase the state's representation on NACo's board. Commissioners approved the motion by roll call.
A commissioner asked staff to notify Nebraska NACO contacts of the vote. Several commissioners noted the value of NACo resources and committee participation for counties, citing research and data available through the national organization.
