The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on May 20 approved a contract with Western Engineering for project LCDOR2025-01, a major asphalt overlay project on North River Road and adjacent areas. The contract amount recorded in the meeting was $1,879,840.
The contract is a continuation of the county’s recent agreements with Western Engineering; county staff said the document follows the same template used in prior years with only dates and amounts changed. The work described in the board packet covers remaining sections of North River Road that are part of the county’s larger pavement program.
A county member of the highway department introduced the contract and presented it to the board; commissioners discussed scope and acknowledged staff presence from the highway department. The board voted to authorize the chair to sign the contract.
The motion to approve the contract passed on a roll call vote. Staff acknowledged that rain this spring has both helped and challenged road work; assistant highway staff and county commissioners noted the weather’s mixed effects on scheduling and road conditions.
County staff will manage contracting details and coordinate with Western Engineering on schedule and project oversight.
