The Carson City Council on May 21 approved its consent calendar โ including an urgency resolution to offer rewards for information resulting in successful enforcement of the city's fireworks ordinance โ confirmed two commission appointments, approved meeting minutes and unanimously adopted an ordinance regulating use of the city seal and logo.
The council added the urgency item to the consent calendar after staff said the resolution needed to be adopted so the city could start advertising the reward program. The item was added as "28a" on the consent calendar and a staff report was made available at the city clerk's office, the council was told.
Council members then moved to approve the consent calendar as amended. The clerk recorded a 4-0 vote in favor (Councilwoman Arlene Rojas was noted absent). Later in the meeting the council approved minutes and unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 25 25 11 (second reading and adoption by title only) regarding formal adoption of the city seal and expansion of regulations concerning use of the city seal to apply to the city logo.
The council also confirmed two appointments to fill vacancies on the environmental commission: Joseph Hunt to a vacant seat and Britney Ford moved from alternate to a vacant full position. The council recorded those appointments as unanimous.
Mayor Lula Davis Holmes and council members did not report any reportable action from earlier closed sessions; the city attorney said closed-session matters yielded no reportable action.
