Bound Brook board approves personnel and operational resolutions; minutes and HIB cases cleared

The Bound Brook Board of Education approved the meeting minutes and a slate of personnel, education and operations resolutions, and accepted recommended actions on harassment, intimidation and bullying (HIB) cases at its May meeting.
Minutes and routine resolutions The board approved the minutes for the April 30, 2025 meeting (agenda item 6.1). The motion was moved and seconded; one board member — Mr. Joseph Incalcaterra — recorded an abstention on the minutes vote and the motion otherwise passed.
Personnel and education packages The board approved the personnel resolutions listed as items 7.2 through 7.49 on the agenda (motion moved by Mr. Dawson and seconded by Mr. Incalcaterra). The board also approved the district education resolutions, items 8.2 through 8.19. Both packages passed on roll call with all voting members recorded as "yes" on those items.
Operations and contracts The board approved the district operations resolutions (items 9.2 through 9.34) by roll call; those resolutions include operations matters the operations committee discussed earlier in the meeting. At the operations committee meeting staff reported that seven firms bid for custodial services and that SJ Services submitted the lowest bid at $999,936; the recommendation to award the custodial contract to SJ Services for $999,936 was placed on the agenda for approval that night as part of the operations package.
HIB cases and executive session The board approved HIB case resolutions for the high school (item 14.2) and for middle and elementary schools (item 15.2) by roll call. Earlier the board also moved into executive session under NJSA 10:4-11 to discuss agenda items listed as 1, 7 and 8; the board adopted the motion to enter executive session by unanimous voice vote.
