Roseville commission accepts Active Transportation Plan, recommends City Council approval

The City of Roseville Transportation Commission on May 20 voted to accept the city's Active Transportation Plan (ATP) and will recommend the plan for approval by the Roseville City Council.
The plan, developed by Alta Planning and Design for the city, merges Roseville's 2008 bicycle master plan and 2011 pedestrian master plan into a single document that recommends infrastructure improvements, programmatic actions and a prioritized project list intended to increase walking, biking and "rolling" access across the city.
Consultant Mauricio Hernandez, senior planning associate with Alta Planning and Design, told commissioners the ATP is the product of extensive public engagement and technical analysis dating to September 2023. The plan identifies existing facilities, analyzes collisions and transit ridership, and proposes a toolbox of pedestrian and bicycle treatments—from curb ramps and high-visibility crosswalks to buffered bike lanes, protected intersections and separated (Class IV) bike lanes.
