The Indianapolis Marion County Board of Trustees approved several routine financial and minutes items at its May 2025 meeting, including the filing of the April treasurer's report for audit and a monthly confirmatory resolution on finance, travel and personnel.
Trustees moved and seconded three approvals: (1) approve the minutes of the regular meeting held 04/28/2025; (2) approve the minutes of the executive session held 05/08/2025; and (3) adopt Resolution 21-20-25, the monthly confirmatory resolution related to finances, travel and personnel. Each motion was carried by roll call and recorded as approved.
On finance, trustees heard a revenue and expenditure update for April 2025 (roughly one quarter into the budget year). The presenter said the system had received about $1,700,000 so far — roughly 6% of the budgeted amount for the year — and noted that most property-tax revenue is received in May and June.
On expenditures, staff reported that 28% of the budget had been spent year-to-date, compared with a calendar benchmark of 33% to be even. Personal services and benefits remain the largest expenditure category; staff reported month-to-date personal-services spending of about $2,700,000 and year-to-date personal-services spending of about $12,100,000. Capital outlay (primarily book purchases) was approximately $230,000 for the month and $806,000 year-to-date.
The board then approved a motion to accept the treasurer's report for April 2025 for filing for audit; roll-call votes were recorded as approved by trustees on the record.
