Superintendent reports retirees, new student representative and restored coaching funds

Superintendent Joe Howell opened his report at the June 4 Wyndham Raymond School District board meeting by thanking outgoing board student representative Jolene Bailey and announcing her replacement, Maggie Soule, a rising junior at Wyndham High School who will serve as the student representative next year.
Howell recognized a long list of retirees and long-serving staff across the district, citing tenure that ranged from decades in some cases including staff in social work, custodial and technology roles. He said the district and board will present small gifts to retirees in the coming week.
Howell also said the Maine Department of Education restored coaching support for Wyndham High School, Wyndham Primary School, Jordan Small Middle School and indicated a willingness to expand the coaching model to Wyndham Middle School. The restored support will cover coaching and materials during the school year but will not cover stipends for summer training; the district plans to use funds set aside in the budget to support summer professional development stipends where needed.
The superintendent closed by reminding board members of upcoming graduations and other year-end events, and invited board members to contact him with logistics questions.
