Committee confirms multiple citizen advisory committee appointments by consent

The Metropolitan and Economic Development Committee approved a slate of appointments to township Citizen Advisory Committees by consent during Monday’s meeting.
Appointments approved included John Russell Jr. to the Pike Township Citizens Advisory Committee (proposal 137); Ron Phillips to the Warren Township Comprehensive Plan Citizens Advisory Committee; Neil Blady (stated as Neil Blady) to the Washington Township Citizens Advisory Committee (proposal 139 as announced); David Baird to the Franklin Township Citizens Advisory Committee (proposal 180 as announced); Andy Coker (introduced as Andy Coker) to the Perry Township Citizens Advisory Committee (proposal 182); and Lisa Lafflin to the Decatur Township Citizens Advisory Committee (proposal 183). Leader Maggie Lewis also asked to move proposal 136 (Terry Bradbury to the Center Township Citizens Advisory Committee) earlier on the agenda; that item was taken up later and Terry Bradbury was appointed.
Each nominee spoke briefly about their community ties and reasons for serving. John Russell Jr. described his pastoral and chaplain roles; Ron Phillips recounted decades of local involvement in Warren Township schools and civic life; Neil Blady said he has civic experience in Butler‑Tarkington and Midtown economic work; David Baird cited previous comp‑plan experience and Chamber service in Franklin Township; Andy Coker noted long family ties to Perry Township and work at the University of Indianapolis; Lisa Lafflin described her affordable‑housing work with West Indianapolis Development Corporation and neighborhood engagement experience; and Terry Bradbury described a 50‑year residency and architecture career. No remonstrations were recorded on these appointments, and each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The appointments were processed by unanimous or voice consent and will be recorded in the committee’s minutes; the committee adjourned after completing the slate.
