The Rules Committee voted to forward to the full Board of Supervisors a nomination recommending Laura Thomas to continue serving in the public‑health seat on the Entertainment Commission.
Laura Thomas introduced herself to the committee as the current occupant of the commission’s public‑health seat, saying she was first appointed in 2016, holds a master’s degree in public health and has worked on HIV‑related programs including time at the San Francisco Department of Public Health. “I’ve been honored to serve on the Entertainment Commission and would very much like to continue,” Thomas said.
Committee members thanked Thomas for her service and noted the commission’s role in supporting the city’s post‑pandemic economic revitalization. Chair Walton moved to forward the nomination with a positive recommendation; the committee approved the motion without objection.
The item will be considered by the full Board of Supervisors at its next meeting.
