Resident urges more crossing guards and air‑conditioning study for middle schools

Cindy Bergaldi of Tredyffrin Township said the regular crossing guard has been seriously ill and maintenance employees have been alternating coverage; last week a maintenance employee was cursed by an irate driver while helping students cross. Bergaldi described the issue as a safety concern and applauded employees who stepped in to keep students safe.
Bergaldi also noted forecasted high temperatures and reminded the board that the two middle schools do not have full air conditioning. She asked the board to “study this and put it back on the capital plan,” citing heat concerns for students and staff.
Board members publicly thanked maintenance employees for their service and acknowledged the request; no formal action or vote was taken during the meeting. The board said the issue would be considered in future facilities discussions and noted additional facilities and capital meetings scheduled over the summer.
