Price City awards Woodhill flood project to Hansen Construction for $373,380; road closure planned during work

Price City council voted June 11 to award the Woodhill Flood Project (NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection, EWP) to B Hansen Construction as the low bidder at $373,380.
City staff explained the project follows flooding that occurred roughly 18 months earlier at the Woodhill Road location. The work will improve a flood ditch and conveyance so stormwater remains contained along Woodhill Road and is routed to a small detention basin before entering existing corral/reservoir infrastructure. Staff said the work aims to protect nearby houses and reduce runoff onto the roadway.
Other bids ranged higher: Percol Rock at $414,469; Dennis Lurd at $471,450; TSJ Construction at $502,021; and Allred Construction at $564,998. Project funding sources include an NRCS EWP grant, a Community Impact Board (CIB) grant and loan, and the Price City stormwater fund.
Staff said final property acquisition and grading steps are complete and warned the council that Woodhill Road will be closed for the project's duration; staff will communicate detour information. The council approved the notice of award and authorized the city to proceed with the contract.
