The Price City Council on June 11 adopted the tentative budget for fiscal year 2025-26 and set a public hearing on the tentative budget for 5 p.m. on June 25 in City Council Chambers.
City staff described the document as a working budget that can be revised before final adoption. Staff said some line items remain in flux: dispatch cost figures could change after an upcoming meeting, and one federal or state grant the city previously received will be reduced next year. Staff also said the city recently received a grant for a transmission line project that will appear in the budget as a loan-funded line item.
Councilors moved and approved the tentative budget by voice vote. Staff emphasized that changes could follow between the tentative and final budgets if new information or savings are identified.
The council directed staff to publish the public hearing notice as required; staff said public notices are posted in the local newspaper, on the city website and on public notice boards at least seven days before the hearing under state law. The hearing was set for June 25 at 5 p.m. in the council chambers.
