Airport manager reports weather-impacted fuel sales, ongoing taxiway/apron work and utility hookup delays

The airport manager reported that May fuel sales were below expectations because of weather-related downtime but said charge-account sales had not yet posted and would reduce the apparent shortfall. "This month, the numbers weren't as high as I'd hoped for, but we did have a lot of weather," the airport manager said.
Construction work at the field will continue: contractors are scheduled to complete taxiway tie-ins and apron extension work and then return for electrical work and cleanup. The manager said the contractor will request up to 10 days of runway downtime to complete runway work once the electrical phase is scheduled.
The manager said the airport has the oil and rock needed for a chip-seal surface but must wait for dry weather. "Once it gets dry enough, we'll have this done in 2 days," the manager said, adding that current weather has delayed paving and parking-lot work. The manager also reported work on window replacement and lower-level rot repairs in the terminal building that should reduce leaks and water intrusion when complete.
On fuel payments and equipment, staff are working to bring a card/point-of-sale device (referred to in the meeting as a QT/QR pod) online so the airport can accept transactions directly at the field. The manager reported delays with the electric utility (OG&E), saying a prior contract had lapsed during construction and a new contract is being arranged to finalize service to new equipment.
City staff reported that an ODOT project is behind schedule by about nine days, mostly due to weather, and that several town water-line breaks tied to that work have been repaired; additional town water projects funded through an FAP loan were reported to start next week.
No formal action was taken on the operational items during the meeting; staff said they will continue to monitor construction and utility schedules and notify the commission if the runway downtime request is formally scheduled.
