The East Meadow Board of Education on June 11 read and approved Policy 2255, "Ex Officio Student Member of the Board," and took a series of routine votes covering curriculum, personnel and business items.
Superintendent Kenneth Rosner explained the policy is required by a recent state directive and noted the rule will take effect July 1. At the reading, a board member asked whether there were changes since the initial reading; Rosner replied there were none. The board voted 6-0 to adopt the policy.
Following the policy reading, the board approved its consent agenda for curriculum and instruction (CSE and CPSE approvals), a personnel consent agenda that included multiple personnel actions, and a business consent agenda covering seven business items. During the personnel portion, Rosner announced that Frank Baglivo, previously chair of English and social studies, was appointed assistant principal at East Meadow High School; the board publicly congratulated Baglivo and another named appointee.
Other routine items approved included approval of minutes from the May 28, 2025 meeting, salary changes, the treasurer's report for April 2025, the custodial overtime man-hours report for February, and board consent items listed on the agenda. Each of those motions carried by recorded voice vote of six in favor and none opposed or abstaining.

All formal motions recorded in the meeting carried unanimously by the six trustees present.
