Prospect Forestation Board hears tour, summer scholar and outreach plans; meeting adjourns

City staff invited board members to a tour of a landfill and the Rumpke recycling facility in Cincinnati on Tuesday; members were asked to sign up. Mayor Doug and Herb reported that four Caine Scholars from the University of North Carolina will be in Prospect this summer for an eight-week civic-engagement placement focused on sustainability; the mayor said the scholars' work is at no cost to the city.
Board members discussed staffing an information table with Parks and Recreation for the Independence Day event. Members who staffed the table in a prior year described low foot traffic but supported maintaining visibility. The board asked members to consider availability and agreed to follow up on scheduling for the parade and prime daytime hours.
The meeting concluded with a motion and vote to adjourn. The board set its next meeting for July 10.
