Council members raised related operational concerns: roadside litter and debris, uncovered truck loads on corridors, and whether contract work includes pickup of debris before mowing so it is not run over. Ms. Camo confirmed the contract requires the vendor to ensure litter and debris are picked up rather than run over by mowers. Public services staff also noted the city picks up deceased animals found on rights-of-way.
For the purpose of discussion, a motion to receive the staff recommendation was made and passed. The roll call recorded unanimous support from the council.
